Dr. Timothy Drinkwine
Grassland Middle Community,
It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of GMS. As a native to Middle Tennessee, I understand the legacy of excellence that Grassland Middle possesses. I do not take lightly the responsibility to serve as the school's leader. In fact, I look forward to continuing the wonderful work of so many great educators, brilliant and talented students, and committed parents.
As an educator with experience as a teacher and administrator in Williamson County Schools, I understand the importance a child's education serves in the development of our young people. As a parent of two, I understand with empathy the challenges that come with raising young adults in the 21st century. I will seek to partner with all stakeholders as we confront challenges and obstacles together to continue to cultivate a wonderful teaching and learning atmosphere for all students, teachers, and parents.
As a former Division 1 student-athlete and TMSAA/TSSAA coach, I understand the importance sports can play in a student's education. Athletics can positively change the direction of a young person's life. It is a tremendous responsibility. As one with a love of writing, poetry, an appreciation of music, a former amateur actor, and supporter of the arts; I consider it a joy to see student talent on display unlike any other thing on the planet. The Fine Arts has the potential to bring so much life to a learning environment and it is valued!
With the history of excellence that GMS offers combined with the talented faculty and staff; we will seek to become a High-Reliability School (HRS). Once recognized, we will continue to push forward to new heights.
Grassland has a history of leading the district in our district's vision to excel in the areas of academics, arts, and athletics. We will continue to lead. It is what we do. We are Generals.
Timothy Drinkwine, Ed.D.
